Last Look: Wheatpasting Demo with Burlesque of North America

In Eric Baudelaire’s Sugar Water (currently on view), a billposter spends 72 minutes methodically wheat-pasting three images in a fictional Paris Metro station. Want to learn how to wheatpaste faster and closer to home? In this workshop, Wes Winship and Mike Davis of acclaimed local print collective Burlesque of North America will demonstrate basic wheatpasting techniques, showing you how to use found paper objects and your own original artwork to create large scale collages and wall murals.
The workshop is free and open to the public and begins at 2pm.

It is that time of year again, to make a hastily arranged Tumblr meetup at Dusty’s Bar in northeast Minneapolis.
In past years, about a dozen or so people have shown up each time, and it has been a blast. So, now that leaves the details…
What time is it at?
Some people may be there by six to secure some tables, but let’s just say it “officially” starts at 7:00pm.Do I need to be 21 to get into Dusty’s?
No. You must be 21 to drink of course.How will I know who the Tumblr people are at Dusty’s when I walk in?
Excellent question. If you walk in by yourself or with a friend, and look lost while scanning the (small) bar, somebody is sure to slur “Hey, you do the Tumblr thing?”. Just smile and stick out your hand to introduce yourself.What if I have questions about the event, who would I ask?

Well sadly this isn’t a cover of Demi Lovato’s song of the same name hardy har har. It’s so much better. This is our first taste of Minneapolis’ Hunting Club’s new album “St.” and I’d say if Skyscraper is any indication of what the whole album is gonna sound like well we’re in store for some eargastic times. St. is scheduled for a release sadly in May! But this is one delicious jam to keep us hooked until then! For fans of Friendly Fires, Foster The People, and Passion Pit.
